Dan

Guitar, Piano, Voice

Dan is a mixed-media artist and music educator. For more than ten years his teaching has helped hundreds of students experience the joy of music. He has directed several choirs and orchestras in Illinois schools and churches and teaches private lessons for piano, voice and guitar. Dan began studying piano as a young child and studied voice, collaborative piano, sacred music, and music education in college. He is especially interested in music history and music theory and loves distilling these rich traditions into simple, practical lessons for his students. He is especially happy when he sees his students, even as young as toddlers, read a music shape and transform it into an expressive sound! It is his great joy and privilege to watch his students trek out their artistic journey and explore the beautiful world of music. When not practicing piano or learning a new instrument, he enjoys reading and riding his bike around Chicago.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
